Movie Synopsis [courtesy of Archive.org]:
Mystery writer Cornelia Van Gorder has rented a country house called "The Oaks", which not long ago had been the scene of some murders committed by a strange and violent criminal known as "The Bat". Meanwhile, the house's owner, bank president John Fleming, has recently embezzled one million dollars in securities, and has hidden the proceeds in the house, but he is killed before he can retrieve the money.
Thus the lonely country house soon becomes the site
of many mysterious and dangerous activities.

REVIEWS:
"1959's 'The Bat' is one of my favorite Vincent Price flicks. To be sure,
it's campy as all get out. But, what the heck...it's fun as all get out too.
Agnes Moorehead, as always, is just perfect in her role here as a mystery
writer who rents an old, creaky mansion, which comes complete with
invading bats and a fortune in hidden loot. .... This film is ideal
video material for late on a stormy night."
-- David Von Pein; October 2003
"Viewers are likely to notice three things. One is the forthright,
old-fashioned snugness of the story, a rather nice change
from some of today's mystery wanderings down Freudian corridors.
Secondly, Crane Wilbur, the scenarist-director, keeps the plot
perking and the bodies falling (seven), with some amusing touches
along the way. Finally, and fortunately, there is Agnes Moorehead's
good, snappy performance."
